As Mel Gibson walked hand in hand with his new Russian girlfriend on the red carpet last night, a few new grey hairs were the only sign that he is a man about to lose $US500 million.

The Australian actor – in the middle of what is expected to become one of the world’s most expensive divorces – attended a movie premiere in Los Angeles with Russian songstress Oksana Grigorieva, the woman at the centre of worldwide speculation about his marital split.

The public debut of his girlfriend, at the premiere of X -Men Origins: Wolverine, put to rest the rumours which have dogged the Oscar-winning Braveheart star since it was announced he was divorcing his wife of 28 years, former dental nurse Robyn Gibson.

His estranged wife looks set to be awarded half of Gibson’s estimated $US900 million (£605 million) fortune after she cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce earlier this month in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple said they separated in 2006.

The US TV show Access Hollywood reported that Gibson has actually been with Grigorieva for three years and it has been rumoured she is pregnant with the actor’s child, which is reportedly what triggered his wife to file for divorce.

Since his divorce announcement there have been four different women named Oksana linked to Gibson, 53. However last night he defiantly proved Grigorieva is the mysterious brunette he was photographed with on the beach in Costa Rica, and who was seen entering his trailer on a recent movie set.

Grigorieva, 39, is a singer who is signed to Gibson's record label Icon Records. She has an 11-year-old son with her former partner, British actor Timothy Dalton.

Walking the red carpet with his Russian girlfriend is a far cry from two weeks ago when Gibson and his estranged wife asked for privacy in their divorce announcement.

"Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so," the Gibsons, who have seven children, said in a statement.

Gibson is one of Hollywood’s richest stars, having earnt his fortune starring, writing and directing many films including the Mad Max trilogy, the Lethal Weapon series and The Passion of the Christ.

Last week the devoutly religious actor surprised members members of the Eastern Catholic Church Bishops Conference in St Louis when he asked the bishops to “keep me in your prayers, I’m going through a bad time in my life".

So much for Gibson's devotion to his sedevacantist sect of Roman Catholicism.

His anti-semitism, coupled with his adulterous behavior, indicates that his outward demonstration of "faith" has been phony for a very long time.

Why does the Catholic Church offer the Sacrament of Penance?

Because man sinning is the natural order of things.

He's not a phony, he's just human.

The serpent changed one word of God to get Eve to bite the fruit. - Women are too influenced by words.

Eve stood naked in front of Adam and offered the fruit. - Sex makes men stupid.

The Sacrament of Penance is one thing.

To maintain openly anti-semitic views while belonging to a breakaway sect  because the Catholic Church is not pure enough is something else.

Sure he's a sinner, as I am.

I know it.  I'm not sure he does.

Good for Mel.

The reason Gibson did such a good job in the Lethal Weapon series is because he really IS the character he plays.

A nutcase.

A solemn discussion with Mister Spock...

"Devolve Power Outta DeeCee and Back to the States,
Localities, and Individuals, as Prescribed in the U.S. Constitution."

MrSpock:  "Do you think it can happen ever again?"

It has to, Mister Spock...our National Debt is simply unsustainable, and these so-called "Unfunded Future Mandates" are simply promises made by past Congresses to pay off their pet constituencies sometime in the future...and future Congresses are fully capable of enacting legislation that reverses past promises made. Sorry, FREELOADERS, we cannot afford to continue to fund yer UN- Productivity...Git a FRIGGIN' JOB and earn whatever you want!!

I worked as the Senior Architect for the Virginia State Parks for 8-9 years a few years back...and I got to know a lot of the Park Rangers who are in charge of these wonderful State assets. Did you know Jefferson National Park is a Federally-run Park that adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway State Park, run by the State. There is absolutely no coordination of forces, we just run two adjoining Parks via two separate bureaucracies. My argument is that the Federal Park System is redundant (all 50 States have their own State Park System Bureaucracy)...and the State of Virginia can take over responsibility for all Federal lands contained herein.

This principle applies to almost all Federal bureaucracies...these days, the State of Virginia handles almost all the direct delivery of social service programs...cut out the middle man and let the citizens of Virginia dole out their welfare goodies as we see fit...we don't need to keep enriching DeeCee RATS to meet our societal obligations (whatever they are deemed to be)...MUD :smokin:
